A#1 : Apply a small amount of mild liquid detergent to the muddy area and blot it with a damp white cloth.
- If the stain persists, try adding some vinegar to the mix. But test it on an inconspicuous area first since this can affect the color of some carpets.
- Blot again with the cloth.
- Apply a little more liquid detergent to the stain.
- Blot the stain again.
- Flood the area with water.
- Blot one last time.
A#3 : Speed up the drying with an hairdryer When it DRIES you should be able to brush it away.
A#4 : Do not grab spotter or clean up the mud stain right away. All this does is spread the stain deep into your carpeting. So resist the urge to go straight for the spotter.
- Get a spoon, gently scrape as much of the mud off of the carpet as you can. Be careful not to push the mud into the carpet.
- Leave the mud dry(maybe the next day).
- It will be easily removed with simple vacuuming.
- If it doesn't want to detach from the carpet you can gently brush the dirt to loosen it. After you have vacuumed and brushed the area and no more dirt will come out you can use your spotter and remove the rest of the stain.
