Q#2 : How do I remove cat urine stains from a carpet?
A#1 : Mix 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide : 1 tablespoon of household ammonia combined in a spray bottle. Saturate the spot and rub gently to begin with. Then respray, cover with a layer of paper towels and place a heavy object on top of the paper towels and leave several hours. When you removed the towels, the stain and odor are gone.
A#2 : Soak up as much of the urine as possible before it dries with a combination of newspaper and paper towels. Place a thick layer of paper towels on the wet spot, and cover that with a thick layer of newspaper. If possible, put newspaper under the soiled area as well. Stand on this padding for about a minute. Remove the padding, and repeat the process until the area is barely damp.
A#3 : Use a bottle of peroxide, about half a cup of baking soda, and a couple of spoonfuls of Dawn. Mix it up and apply for about five minutes, then blot it out.
A#4 : The odor can be neutralized with vinegar. Once vinegar dries the vinegar smell will dissipate
A#5 : Avoid using steam cleaners to clean urine odors from carpet or upholstery. The heat will permanently set the stain and the odor by bonding the protein into any man-made fibers.
A#6 : Also teach your pet where you want him to eliminate !!
A#7 : Use Carbonated water (Soda Water) on high quality carpets and substituting industrial, high durability or low quality carpets.
A#8 :
- 2 cups 3% hydrogen peroxide
- 2 tsp. baking soda
